HISTORY: 911Programs began in 1991 as New England Academy of Prehospital Medicine, a non-profit corporation created to educate the public in CPR and to provide basic EMT courses in southern Rhode Island.
NEAPM was dissolved and reformed into New England Medical Resources to provide both basic and advanced EMS courses. The EMS education climate changed significanlty in 2002 and NEMR was closed. The company was re-structured and opened under the name 911Programs to provide not only EMS courses but also allied health education with an eventual plan to expand into other vocational areas.
Currently, 911Programs is the fastest growing career technical school in Rhode Island.
COURSES: Currently, 911Programs offers day and evening courses in 12 different programs plus 10 other courses including recertification. All regular programs (i.e phlebotomy, CNA, EMT...) are taught on-site but short courses (i.e. continuing education, refresher...) can be done completely or partially online.
FACULTY: The faculty at 911Programs is carefully selected from among the best providers in Rhode Island. To teach for 911Programs, staff members must not only be qualified and experienced clinicians, but also excellent and experienced instructors.
911Programs monitors instructor performance, takes into account student feedback, and provides mentoring to improve performance in the classroom.
ACCESSIBILITY: This school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, age, sex, religious or political beliefs. However, as a private adult education institution, we reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone without cause. This school will offer alternate and accessible arrangements for students with disabilities per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) July 26, 1990 section 309. Students must meet with an administrator privately so that arrangements can be made. Click here for more information.
