The Medical Coding and Billing Program is a 3 night a week program that runs for 16-18 weeks.  Our program offers training in all aspects of the billing and coding profession including medical terminology, basic medical office management, compliance and regulatory guidelines, ICD.9, ICD 10,  CPT, EDI and EHR. We prepare you to pass the NHA credentialing exams which you will take upon completion of the course.  You will also be qualified to sit for the CCA examination.  In class we include several practice CPC exams as well which I believe should prepare you to sit for the CPC exam.  The AAPC currently awards the CPC-A (apprentice) to coders who have not completed at least two years of coding in the field.  Upon passing the exam you are awarded a CPC-A which is an apprentice designation. Once you have completed 2 years of coding in the field and suppled the AAPC with documentation of such your credential is changed to a CPC, http://www.aapc.com/.   Our program offers the NHA exam with a CBCS credential upon completion, http://www.nhanow.com/home.aspx you will also be prepared to take the CMAA credential for the NHA if you wish.
